The operator VimpelCom (“Beeline” brand) announces the availability of technology LTE-A on the first smartphone with support for 4G + on the Russian market – Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The maximum data rate using technology LTE inter-band Carrier Aggregation in the “Beeline” network of more than 110 Mbit / s.
According to VimpelCom, he became one of the first operators in the world, which combined channels of the frequency bands band 7 and band 20 – 800 MHz and 2,600 MHz – in a commercial network. Functionality of inter-band Carrier Aggregation is available in 3.2 LTE network within the Moscow Ring Road. Before the year is planned to extend coverage to 90% of the territory of Moscow. The merger of the maximum width of the frequency channel is 15 MHz. Technology LTE inter-band Carrier Aggregation allows for data transmission at the same time the two ranges, maximum and average data rate of LTE network is increased by half.
