Galaxy S6 will support multiple standards, wireless charging – 3DNews

On March in Barcelona at the exhibition MWC 2015 event will take place Samsung Unpacked, which will be presented a new flagship smartphone Galaxy S6.

Samsung Electronics confirmed that one of the features of the new items will feature wireless charging. Lead Engineer unit IT & amp; Mobile Communications Shoho Pak (Seho Park) said in an official company blog that 2015 will be crucial for the development of wireless charging, which will become the universal standard for all OEM-manufacturers of mobile devices.

Shoho Pak promises that will be charged the problem of using different standards for charging. Currently, there are a number of standard wireless charging different groups, including the Wireless Power Consortium and Power Matters Alliance. Samsung is a member of three organizations that support wireless charging – Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Power Matters Alliance (PMA) and the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP). According to Pak, the new flagship will support multiple charging standards, including Qi, WPC and PMA.

Pak also noted the growth rate of wireless charging. « Two or three years ago, wireless charging efficiency ranged from 20% to 30% of a normal charge , – says Shoho Pak. – But since we were able to more than double the rate of charge ».
