In early June, we wrote about the fan developing Star Wars: Galaxy in Turmoil, began life as an attempt to create its own version of Star Wars Battlefront 3, and then grown an independent game. At the end of June to Frontwire Studios knocked Lucasfilm’s lawyers to stop the development.
This is usually such promising fans’ projects and closed, but this story is another junction. Tony Romanelli, head Frontwire, has agreed to talks with the leadership of Lucasfilm, which was much more friendly than you might expect. As explained by representatives of Lucasfilm, they would not mind to let Galaxy in Turmoil use licensed “Star Wars”, though under the contract all the games on this universe has the right to EA only, which has sharply opposed the existence of the fan of the game, claiming the laurels of Battlefront. EA refused to even offer to release the Galaxy in Turmoil on their own and receive the proceeds from her sales.
Once a stumbling block became the “Star Wars” and Lucasfilm has nothing against the game itself, then Frontwire decided to abandon the use of the IP . Galaxy in Turmoil will be converted and will be released as a standalone game – as planned with multiplayer on 64 people, space battles and fulfilling a single campaign. The Steam. Is free. Someday.
