Samsung has for several years been developing flexible displays, displaying their latest developments in this field in various consumer electronics show. And if in televisions and computer monitors, this technology has already begun to bring some benefit Samsung, the smartphones, which was originally developed by the technology, while the situation remains highly ambiguous. Introduced last year, the smartphone Samsung Galaxy Round and announced in September at the event UNPACKED Episode 2 model Samsung Galaxy Edge – it is rather a trial technology. However, as early as next year, Samsung may apply flexible display smartphone for the mass market – Galaxy S6.

At least, so says senior analyst IHD Technology Jerry Kang conference IHS Display Analyst Conference.

«Released the following year smartphone Galaxy S6 will dihedral display, curved by the right and left side faces” – said Jerry Kang .

Mr Kan also said that this was the original concept of the smartphone Galaxy Note Edge (in the illustration above), but at the last moment, Samsung abandoned the idea in favor of the design with a right bend of the display.

Though Samsung already long enough experimenting with curved screens in the application of the folded on both sides of the display device, such as a mass Galaxy S6 hard to believe. More plausible it seems like the issue of by-product Note Edge, which, in fact, is almost a complete copy of Galaxy Note 4 and differs only in a curved screen.

According to preliminary data, the smartphone Galaxy S6, codenamed Project Zero, receive a 16- or 20-megapixel camera, and a completely new design, developed from scratch.
