The basis of any smartphone today – the screen. One can argue about the importance of other characteristics and components, but more than 70 percent of the front surface is the display, and it is on the screen we see interacting with the device. Therefore, the quality of the screen depends on how comfortable you will work with a particular device.
Personally, I have until recently preferred screens based on IPS-matrix against AMOLED and SuperAMOLED. The reason for this was mainly one – the difference in contrast and, shall we say, juiciness image. In SuperAMOLED-screen picture is traditionally very juicy and contrast, while the IPS calmer colors. It would seem that with such preferences SuperAMOLED-screen Samsung GALAXY Note 4 I did not have to like it, but it turned out quite the opposite. But before I explain why so little talk about this type of displays and why the Sa msung use it.
AMOLED-screens initially have several advantages over LCD and plasma panels. With regard to smartphones, we are interested several aspects. Firstly, lower energy consumption due to the fact that it depends on the AMOLED picture brightness. Therefore, when the screen you have a dark background, power consumption is lower, and this is not a myth. Second, a major plus AMOLED – display more colors, this is just a very high image contrast and vibrance pictures, have a large stock of these parameters. That is why the black color on the AMOLED-display truly black, not gray as in the IPS. Finally, thirdly, AMOLED-screens thinner than its competitors due to the fact that it is not necessary element with backlight. This directly affects the size.
In the Samsung GALAXY Note 4 installed Super AMOLED-display with a diagonal of 5.7 ” and Quad HD-resolution (2560×1440 pixels), and perhaps this is the best screen in smartphones today. In the Samsung GALAXY Note 4 there are two important changes compared to the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 in this regard. The first – a metal frame. Previously, the company used the plastic, this material had its pros and cons, but, in my opinion, the flagship of the company must be made of metal, though not completely, but at least some elements. And Samsung GALAXY Note 4 made metal frame.
Part of the frame is painted in body color, and some remains just treated, but unpainted – in my opinion, it’s a great combination, due to the metal frame of the smartphone looks solid and reliable. Cover in the Samsung GALAXY Note 4 is also slightly changed, there are no more lines on the perimeter, but the texture of the skin is preserved, so that this element gives the device a modern look, besides, it is very practical. In Samsung have made efforts to solve both problems. Power consumption is reduced through the use of Super AMOLED-screen and other energy solutions, and if this is not enough, you can always turn on the extreme energy efficiency. In the extreme energy-saving operation of the device can be extended to the whole day.
