42.TUT.BY tried to figure out – how useful and comfortable curved display at Galaxy S6 edge. At the same time we tested and its “classic” version – Galaxy S6. They differ only in screen size and battery capacity, and therefore do a review for each unit separately there was no point.

Appearance
By reading rave reviews of Western and Russian observers, I did not realize that they liked it so much in the new flagship of Samsung. Until such time as he took the machine in hand.
Glass and metal combined in a perfect whole. That’s probably the best description of the design of new products. After last year’s “plastyrevogo” Galaxy S5 – it’s just like a breath of fresh air. To assemble, absolutely no complaints. We immediately see that A-brand smartphone.

Also, do not look very good serving camera – sorry, that Samsung could not hide the element in the body.
In my opinion, it is more convenient in the hand is still “classic” Galaxy S6. Here and volume button / lock slightly wider ends not so dig into the palm (the latter is not critical, but still) and not accidental clicks on the edge of the screen when you compress the phone in your hand.
Special thanks to Samsung for perfect the location of the lock button and rounded ends in the Galaxy S6. Even if it is not an original solution, but it is very convenient.
Performance
The flagship. Samsung. 2015. What here can still be questions. Smartphones are working flawlessly – any 3D-games at maximum settings, the interface is not podlagivaet in any situations (in last year’s Galaxy S5 there were questions).
But if the Galaxy S6 edge even in “heavy” games not much warmed, it “classic” brother, unfortunately, could not boast. Given the same hardware, it can be assumed that this moment will be fixed in the next software updates.

Battery
Thanks to energy-efficient processor (14 nm as in any way) and Super AMOLED display smartphone safely withstand day even under heavy load – the active use of social networks, constant checking RSS-client 3G- network, about half an undemanding games and the same number of calls.

The camera – this is definitely one of the strengths of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. As one of my colleagues, “Galaxy S6 may well replace the SLR.” Statement controversial, but among the best smartphone camera I just have not seen (he loses even my previous favorite LG G3).
The camera starts almost instantly (you can call it by double clicking on the button Home), focus – instant.
I will not dwell on the set of camera modes, I note only that auto works flawlessly – this also applies to the focus and white balance. Originals images in various conditions:

Interface
Finally got rid of TouchWiz gurgling, pursued him ever since the Galaxy S III and Android 4.0.

Display and curved screen
Well, here we are getting to the fun. But first – just on the screen.
It is gorgeous – I remind you that this is a flagship Samsung 2015. At 5.1 inches diagonally resolution is 2560 x 1440 pixels (577 ppi). For comparison – in the iPhone 6, this figure is much lower – 326 ppi. So to distinguish individual pixels is simply unrealistic.
Another plus – brightness, the screen read, even in the rare sunny days in Belarus. The assets also narrow frame around the screen and oleophobic coating. Fingerprints on the screen (and the back cover) can be easily retained and just as easily erased.
As for the curved display in the Galaxy S6 edge, then he found several applications.

Glass and metal, high-quality assembly, gorgeous screen and the camera, maximum performance and decent battery. All in Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge well. Except for the price.
The official cost of smartphones in Belarus – 13.5 and 15.5 million rubles (950 and 1080 dollars at current exchange rates) for the 32GB version. And this is the main drawback of these models. Not everyone can afford to pay such a sum for a smartphone – even for one of the best in the family of Android. For example: iPhone 6 with 64 GB of memory, we can already buy for 12 million.
As for the choice between the two models, the author of the review would prefer classic Galaxy S6. And it’s not just 2 million price difference – I could not find significant advantages in a curved pattern, but the classic flagship able to hit on all fronts. Especially the camera and screen.
