Smartphone Samsung Galaxy J1 in December of last year ranked first in Russia in sales of smartphones in pieces, according to “Vedomosti” with reference to the materials of the company-the partner of several retailers. The second most popular was the iPhone 5s with 16 GB memory, a few months before that won first place. Thus, in December, the Galaxy J1 has occupied 5% of the Russian market of smartphones, and the iPhone 5s got about 4.6% of the market. In November 2016, the share of these phones on the market amounted to 4.6% and 5.5% respectively.
the Representative of “M. Video” Valery Andreyev said that all last year, except for August and December, the iPhone 5s was the most sold in Russia smartphones. According to the representative of “M. Video”, the lead Galaxy J1 is connected with additional marketing promotions in which the retailers were able to conduct in December.
the Representative of MTS Dmitry Solodovnikov added that the Galaxy J1 good technical characteristics thanks to which the smartphone is convenient for downloading and viewing video content and what is active demand for this phone. Representatives of Samsung and Apple did not comment on this information.
In January, the head of the Russian division of Samsung Mobile Arkady Graf said that the company will reduce prices in Russia 5-10%. Earlier in Russia fell Apple gadgets. The manufacturer has reduced prices on the entire line of their products on average by 5-10%.
