Microsoft is preparing for the announcement of two new flagship smartphone. We are talking about the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, details of which are now shared journalists Softpedia.
The publication says that the body of the new flagship Lumia 940 will be made of polycarbonate plastic. In the same package will be delivered and XL-version. At the same time they will be more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S6 or iPhone 6, which is now offered at a price between 600 and 700 euros respectively. This means that the Lumia 940 at the start of sales will cost at least 700 euros, and Lumia 940 XL, given its characteristics, even more expensive.
According to sources, the new flagship of Microsoft Lumia go on sale in November 2015. Their official announcement may take place with the launch of a mobile version of Windows 10. It is already known that the Lumia 940 will be equipped with 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the XL-version will receive the same screen resolution, but increased to 5.7 inches diagonal. Lumia 940 will be based on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 808 and Lumia 940 XL – on Snapdragon 810. Also in their equipment will include 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, 20-megapixel main camera with LED-flash triple and 5-megapixel front.
Recall recently, Microsoft announced the upcoming restructuring of mobile business, in which it will write off assets to Nokia, totaling $ 7.6 billion and lay off 7,800 employees. And since 2016, the corporation will produce annually no more than six new models of smartphones.
