The Steam Greenlight left space “bagel» Everspace authors Galaxy on Fire – 3DNews

The system Steam Greenlight began voting for a custom edition of the store space shooter Everspace from independent studio Rockfish Games, based in Hamburg.

This « three-dimensional space roguelike-shooter with a non-linear narrative, the constant development of the hero and the graphics and sound level of big-game based on the Unreal Engine 4 ».

The authors draw attention to the fact that this is not a simulator: the emphasis is placed on action-component. Manage the ship can be in the form of the first or the third person using the keyboard and mouse. Also, developers are planning to introduce support for head-mounted display.

«Now on the market are a lot of serious space simulators with ultra-realistic physics and the ability to see billions of star systems, but we believe that the game that combines easy-to-learn roguelike -Gameplay- graphics and sound level AAA projects and non-linear story – this is exactly what many of you have been waiting for a long time », – say the creators.

« Every dive into the game will be exciting because you have to find a way out of a completely new situations and use the lessons learned to apply their skills and show a talent for improvisation », – they promise. « In view of the features of the genre usually roguelike-games are no different a deep storyline, but we want to change it, – add creators. – We came up with a rationale for each plot of rebirth after the death of the hero, which allows a better understanding of what is happening and help solve the main puzzle ».

However, the developers do not want to strictly follow the rules of the genre and make a game neproschayusche complicated. Rather, they seek to make gamers analyze the cause of each death and to think carefully about the choice of equipment and modifications to the vehicle. The game will be a tree improvements, which will allow to develop a character in accordance with the preferred style of passing. Almost all of the improvements will be displayed on the aircraft models.

So far, the development of the game spent more than six months and is at the stage of “pre-alpha” but to continue working on the project studio needed additional funds. The team expect to help gamers: August 6, Rockfish Games will launch a campaign on Kickstarter. All videos and screenshots of all, according to the creators, show the actual gameplay.

Rockfish Games was founded by Michael Schade (Michael Schade) and Christian Lorom (Christian Lohr), have decades of experience in industry. In the past, they formed a studio Fishlabs Entertainment, best known as the developer of a series of mobile space simulation Galaxy on Fire. The second part has been highly appreciated by journalists (rating on Metacritic – 90), and a total of all parts of the saga, according to the authors, have been downloaded more than 40 million times.

Everspace will be translated into eight languages, including Russian.
