Samsung released Galaxy Xcover protected 3 Value Edition-based Android 6.0 Marshmallow – Ferra

Samsung has quietly released an updated version of its secure Value Edition smartphone Galaxy Xcover 3. Recall relatively inexpensive Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone released in 2015, including in Russia for the corporate market. Now the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value Edition is available in a number of European online retailers, for example, in the Netherlands, it can be bought for 228 euro


It seems that the main change is the software platform – on the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Value edition installed latest version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, whereas the original smart phone produced with the ancient Android 4.4 KitKat. Hardware same characteristics remain unchanged.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone complies with IP67 protection and is designed for including in “field” conditions. Reinforced body provides impact resistance and protection from dust and fine particles. The device is capable of withstanding immersion in water to a depth of one meter for 30 minutes. Ports do not have plugs, which excludes loss or damage to the small details. The device is resistant to thermal shock and to mechanical stress. This body became more than three millimeters thinner than the previous model Xcover 2.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is equipped with a 4.5-inch display with WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels). Like its predecessor, the smartphone received a physical reset button on the main screen, menu and “Back”. 5-megapixel main camera is equipped with autofocus and LED flash. In addition, there is a 3-megapixel front camera.

The smartphone is based on the quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal flash memory which can be expanded with cards microSD. There is also a compass, altimeter, GPS, NFC, a 2,200 mAh battery, support for cellular LTE networks. Galaxy Xcover 3 is equipped with a safety system Samsung KNOX, specially designed to protect corporate data.
