The site of the company Kantar published monthly statistics on the distribution of mobile devices with varying operating systems in different countries. We talked about the situation on the world market just a couple of months ago. However, during this time in some markets the situation has changed quite significantly. This time we will not collect the data in a table to compare with the previous year. Instead, a brief description of the situation. We only note that the last time we gave the data for March, and now in May. So, the greatest changes have taken place in the US market. In just two months the share of Android increased from 58.1% to 64.9%, while iOS share decreased from 36.5% to 30.9%. In the Chinese market, such changes are marked: Android captured 76.8% of the market vs. 72% in March, and lost the position of iOS (21.5% in May against 26.1% in March). In the markets of Germany and Italy there is a similar picture, though on a smaller scale. Special attention is awarded analysts Kantar company Samsung in the US market. It is noted that a manufacturer in the second quarter increased its share in the segment of Android with 52% to 55%. At the same time, the smartphone Galaxy S6 took third place in the list of best-selling smartphone in the United States. Most interestingly, in the second place it is Galaxy S5 (in the first – iPhone 6).
