According to the source, the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 fingerprint sensor is not located on the front and on the back surface. Earlier it was reported that the sensor will be built into the display. Reportedly, testing has shown that this arrangement adversely affects the operation of the sensor. In the result, it was decided to use a separate sensor. Combine it with the hardware Home button will not work in the absence of the latter, the sensor is therefore decided to place on the back cover.
