Wi-Fi hotspot with the name Galaxy Note 7 almost caused an emergency landing of the plane – Hacker

Flight 358 Virgin America airline, EN route from San Francisco to Boston, almost made an emergency landing because of a good sense of humor on Board.

As you know, in October 2016, the Federal aviation administration and many airlines of the world were forbidden to carry on Board the aircraft, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 due to the threat of fire. Now to take on Board the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 – that’s a Federal offense. Numerous incidents of ignition and explosions of smartphones Galaxy Note 7 was widely reported in the press, so the defect of these apparatuses is known for almost everyone.

What was the surprise of the developer Lucas Wojciechowski (Wojciechowski Lucas), when he was sitting on the plane, opened laptop, scanned the available Wi-Fi network and found a hotspot with the name Galaxy Note 7_1097.

When the aircraft is in the air for nearly an hour, was followed by an announcement on the loudspeaker: “If someone on Board the Galaxy Note 7, please press the call button the flight attendant.” Since none of the passengers were admitted, fifteen minutes from the cabin said that “this is no joke, now we turn on the light and let us search the Luggage until then, until we find a [smartphone]“. So didn’t work and it is fifteen minutes to the passengers over the intercom and addressed the captain, saying that the flight is now going to turn around and make an unscheduled landing at the airport of Wyoming, the owner of the device will not be found.

Obviously, Prancer didn’t relish the thought of being in Wyoming at three in the morning, as soon the device found. Handsfree crew members reassured the passengers, saying that someone just changed my device name for Galaxy Note 7, and is explosive smartphone was not on Board.

Representatives of Virgin America already confirmed to reporters that the incident described actually took place, but declined to say whether they had been any action against the unknown caller.
